    This is a fact of life. OpenBSD is used in a number of closed-source commercial projects. Copying chunks of Linux into it was bad form on that project’s part. Just as the Linux community had to use clean-room techniques on the binary code, so do the OpenBSD crowd.

    Unfortunately, companies using the BSDs do so because they can take the code and not return changes and fixes. That is fine according to the BSD license, but it would put some developers in a very tight spot if they happened to work for a competing company. That is why most people seem to choose GPL.
